Brief
Welcome to Willow & Hearth, an Artisan Coffee House & Roaster nestled in the heart of Seattle. We’re not just a coffee shop; we’re a sanctuary for coffee lovers of all ages, offering a warm, cozy, and welcoming environment. Our mission is to be the cornerstone of the community, a place where locals gather to work, unwind with family and friends, and immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of our city.
Create a fresh brand identity that accurately reflects Willow & Hearths story. They want their customers to really feel the vibe when they look at their visual assets. It needs to be versatile, as they'll need to display the identity on many different materials such as mugs, to-go mugs, napkins, food wraps and containers, signage, as well as digital platforms like social media pages and website.
Challenge
From the start of the project I found it harder than expected not to fall down the "stereotypical look and feel" that many coffee shops have. Being not only a coffee shop but a place for everyone to share stories, make friends and create new memories, Willow & Hearth needed a striking, fresh and inviting brand identity that stands feet about the crowd.
Solution
To get around this problem I took a step back and dug deeper into my research allowing me to create a suitable design direction that fit the brief. I created a project task sheet to make sure that I stayed on the right path, this also allowed me to design smoothly along the project process as I knew what I was aiming for. This process drastically helped me to stay on track, on time and to allow my full creativity to do its thing.
